Made one of my favorite holiday treats with a healthy twist using raw cacao power, almond milk, maple syrup, & Further Food’s collagen peptides! As I enter my 20s, skincare is definitely something I don’t skimp on. Research shows that by age 25, our skin’s 2 structural proteins (collagen, which keeps skin tight & resilient, and elastin, which gives skin its elasticity) begin to decrease! So, I’ve been incorporating collagen into my diet to keep my hair and nails long, and my skin nice and tight! Get 10% off of your Further Foods order using my discount code: WELLNESSOBSESSIVE10. Below are some of my skin care tips for college students followed by the hot cocoa recipe!

1. NEVER sleep with make on

Doing so not only clogs your pores and promotes acne, but old mascara dries out and weakens your lashes. Sleeping with makeup on increases exposure to free radicals, leading to a breakdown of collagen! I don’t care how tired, lazy, or drunk you are—TAKE OFF YOUR MAKEUP!

2. Exfoliate 1-2x a week!

Doing so increases cell turn over, boosts circulation, stimulates collagen, evens skin tone, and unclogs pores. I use SkinCeuticals Micro-Exfoliating Scrub!

3. Start incorporating collagen into your diet (duh)!

You can add collagen powder to pretty much anything: smoothies, drinks, oatmeal, yogurt, soup, dressing etc. It’s taste-free, filled with protein, and benefits your nails, hair, and skin!
